Become the envy of all your friends!

After the intense five days that hit London for Fashion Week ends, its time to reflect upon which trends hit the catwalks and which looks in particular will be gracing us with their presence in our own wardrobes back at home.

For most of us the streets or office are our catwalk. It can be a hard task to pick which trends you can infiltrate into our everyday garments whilst still looking chic. Most fun items have to be saved for weekends and evenings, however, there are a few looks which can translate into the day whilst making you look fabulous and become the envy of all your friends! Hurrah!

Let me first of all introduce you to your new best friend. Its colour. Think bright, vivid, exploding pops of turquoise, pink and yellow. This colour palette rocked the runways teamed with black to keep the overall look chic, sexy and sophisticated. PPQ and Jasper Conran used jaw dropping use of brights in their outwear, ensuring you stick out from the crowd. The finishing details incorporated black fur neck lines, over sized buttons, bows and leather gloves. FABULOUS! These coats where screaming to be worn as dresses teamed up with black sheer tights and ankle boots. The collections truly had the perfect combination of both conceptual design mixed with ready-to-wear fashion, ticking every box. Hey, if its good enough for Anna Della Russo to rock a coat as a dress its good enough for us.

For those of us that are a little less daring with the use of colour, Pringle of Scotland and Paul Costello did not disappoint. Combining voluminous cocoon shapes with sharp tailoring, the words luxurious, traditional and minimal spring to mind. For those of you out there that love to look smart yet sophisticated these collections will go down extremely well. Both used a lot of crisp, clean white but then branched off with different tones. Pringle's colour palette transformed itself from white, chalk, praline and caramel tones through to vivid cornflower and sea blue, whilst Costello mixed his pieces in a palette of saturated pastels and misty tones, including light butterscotch, aquamarine, powder pink, marmalade and seal grey.

Finally, we come to the prints...I first came across Maria Grachvogel last LFW, where I fell in love with her ethos and vision. This season, she hit the catwalks with classically tailored, ready-to-wear garments for AW incorporated with her print designs, it simply blew me away. Ragile, silk chiffon dresses came printed with bare branches while leaves withered on wool tailoring. Evening wear came adorned with graphic botanical prints. If the clothes weren’t enough, her front row was packed with celebrities including Yasmin Le Bon, Dame Kelly Holmes and MTV's Laura Whitmore.

So there you have it. Think bright and bold with your outwear, chic and sophisticated with structured tailoring, or simply elegant and feminine photographic, nature-led prints all in chiffons and loose satins. Even though this week we have seen just a slight glimpse of the sun welcoming the UK to spring, I'm already dreaming of the next colder months winter wonderland wardrobe.
